Career Paths

Several positions at BMW have well-defined career paths. The best example is the Construction Department. We pursue Project Engineer Interns and Co-ops who upon graduation from a Construction Management or Construction Engineering program are hired as a Project Engineer I. The path flows to Project Engineer II, Project Engineer III, Resident Manager, Project Manager and beyond. This path from college graduate to Project Manager can take from 7 to 10 years, depending upon the individual. The Project Manager position is eligible for equity ownership in BMW. The opportunity to share in the ownership of this manager-owned company is viewed by many as an attractive “carrot on the stick.”
